Wedding Advice to Soon-To-Be-Married Couples from 3 ML Celebrating Forever Brides + Grooms

I asked three previous brides and grooms in their experience, what advice they would give to soon-to-be-married couples.

Q: What advice would you give to soon-to-be bride and grooms before their wedding day?

A: During the planning process: with your fiancé decide the top 5 things you both care about (non-negotiable) and don't stress about the rest. For example, if you don't care about what the table setting looks like, then pick one (or a general idea) and move on. For brides specifically, make it clear who is allowed into the bridal suite before the ceremony. I had several people just come up for no reason and it drove me crazy!

A: As cheesy as it sounds, I would say to just enjoy this season of life. Don’t stress the small things. If you’re looking to save money and you’re okay with not having as many flowers, greenery is the way to go! It’ll save you so much money in the long run, and it still looks beautiful!

A: For wedding day don’t drink too much, make sure you eat something that is going to maintain you, and let all your emotions out. Don’t hold those back.

A: Just make sure you are prepared so that you can fully enjoy the day. Also, there is going to be curve balls thrown at you, but don’t let that ruin your day. Try to go with the flow.

Q: Looking back at your day , what are 3 must haves for your wedding day that you would advise soon to be brides and grooms?

A: 3 must haves for us..... breakfast/water/snacks before hand, a list of what you expect of the planner so you know that you've told them and they know what you need on that day (Shoutout to ML Celebrating Forever lol), sounds kind of weird, but some sort of box for gifts/cards brought to the reception.

A: A wedding planner is a must have. It takes so much stress off you, especially the day of. A good photographer - photos of your big day last a lifetime. Snacks for before the ceremony for the bridal party, especially the bride and groom.

A: DJ, DJ, DJ, spend money on the DJ. He made the wedding music just what we wanted. It was a celebration of a lifetime. 🎉

Videographer - I almost didn’t get this and I would have regretted it so much. You want something to remember the day by.

Bring elements that are unique to you all as a couple - we did Spanish/English signs, a worship song in our ceremony, dominoes tables and flags to represent Dominican culture. Make it special for you all. Don’t worry if others are going to like it.
